Question Outdated voice information?

Can you spot the out-of-date voice information on my CVP-509 for GrandPiano1? Anyone else the same?

====
GrandPiano1
Natural!

The Natural Grand was sampled from a Yahama Concert Grand with four dynamics per sample. Suitable not only for classical compositions but also for piano pieces of any style.

"four dynamics per sample" should be "five dynamics per sample". I'm presuming the other CVP-509s have the same incorrect information and not just mine. It would be a more serious matter if this information reflected the instruments dynamic sampling. I'll check it with an audio analyser just in case.

Yamaha said their colleagues in Japan are looking into it.

I noticed the SAME thing. It was when I had just received my 509 and I actually checked the Yamaha Web site because I started to 2nd guess myself. I thought that maybe I THOUGHT the CVP-509 had 5 levels, but really only had 4. But, yes, there was definitely a discrepancy. I soon forgot about it when I started playing and you've just reminded me...4 months later!

So, any update on this?

My guess is that since a lot of the CVP-409 interface has been carried over it is just a "cut and paste" issue (in simplest terms). But, I would be VERY curious if it's one of those "specifications subject to change, final product may vary" type issues felt by those of us early adopters who bought based on a brochure...

If it is, that would SUCK, as the extra sampling layer/response (while subtle) is a major feature adding to the overall emotion created by the piano sound - one of those subtle differences to connect us to the 509 sound over another series, or another manufacture's sound.

Thanks for the reminder!

Thanks! I was beginning to think I was the only one with the incorrect voice information. Yamaha reassured me that GrandPiano1 is indeed a five dynamic layer piano. And, no, no update yet.

Although I understand what you mean (especially after spending all that money), shouldn't it be more important if you could actually hear instead of read it?
